Bears Win 10th Cup!!!

Well how about that? Hershey never gave the Moose a chance in game 6 and is now the only team in AHL HISTORY with 10 Calder Cup Championships.

WOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Just over 11 minutes into the game and the Bears were already up 3-0 and the Moose were struggling to find any offensive pressure at all. And when they did find some offense Michal Neuvirth was there to shut the door on them.

After a 2nd period goal from Manitoba and an empty net goal from Keith Aucoin Hershey locked up the win 4-1.

It was a special celebration for any and all the players but some like Aucoin, Quintin Laing, Alexandre Giroux, and captain Bryan Helmer it meant that much more. Aucoin, Laing, and Giroux were titleless coming into this season and Helmer hadn't won the title since his 2nd year in the league...14 years ago. In what might have been the final game of his career Helmer was able to lift the Calder Cup above his head one more time.

Neuvirth was named playoff MVP after recording 16 wins, 4 shutouts, and just incredible numbers throughout the postseason. Without his play Hershey would not have won the Cup. He was absolutely the most deserving player on the ice for this award.

Tonight at 7 the Bears will celebrate with the fans before taking a well deserved break and spending quality time with family and friends.

Congrats to all the players who made this possible and to the coaches and management who put this incredible group on the ice for us to see!!

LET'S GO BEARS!!!!
