Well it is official now...Bob Woods is now an assistant coach for the Washington Capitals.
This was suspected for weeks now after the Caps didn't hire a new assistant to replace the one they let go. Woods was an assistant under Boudreau and he knows the system as well as anyone.
The question is now....who becomes Hershey's head coach?
We will surely know very shortly as the team is not going to wait long to make a decision.
A couple names to keep in mind:
Dale Hunter - former Cap and head coach for OHL's London Knights
Jared Bednar - head coach at South Carolina
I could see either of them landing in Hershey. Also don't forget Mark French who was the assistant coach this past season. He might be up for the job too.
Either way....a big CONGRATS and Thank you to Bob Woods for coaching the Bears to the Calder Cup and for his promotion to the big leagues. Good Job Woods!!
